OVERVIEW:
Chet Grimstad (Ben DeBrunner) is the world's cockiest private investigator. With a caseload of over seventy projects running simultaneously, he's also one of the busiest. And with high school classwork due as well, he's never without a bottle of Pepto Bismo nearby! Along with childhood friends Larry (Wes Terray) and Derek (Mark T. Sebastian), the trio relentlessly probes the festering criminal underbelly of their Pennsylvanian hometown.
After an impressive debut, Chet's detective team has fallen on hard times and we join the story to find them in their worst slump to date. All of their cases have stalled at dead ends, tempers are flaring as they grapple with failure, and the team is on the verge of disbanding.
Salvation arrives in the form of Victor Fry (Nick Lake), a young novice who dreams of joining the team. As a way to earn Chet's respect, Victor has worked as a "mole" for over a year at the Carson Detective Agency, the town's legitimate firm. In a stroke of good fortune, Victor gets wind of a local kidnapping — the daughter of a wealthy socialite has been abducted for ransom.
The substantial reward and opportunity for prestige galvanizes the team into action. Adopting Chet's highly unorthodox sleuthing techniques, the team scrambles around town in a wild chase that not only leads them towards a girl who is not what she seems, but deeper into a circle of evil they never could have imagined existed in their town.
The clock is ticking and the faster they rush, the fastest they fall helplessly into the trap that is set and waiting for them...
The Unmarked Garage (aka The Three Investigators in the Case of The Unmarked Garage) is Wes Terray's first feature film.
